Help in Troubled Times -Free Download- Strength

There once was I time when I thought I had things figured out…
“If I just put my mind to it and work really, really, really hard,” I said, “I’ll make ____ successful.”

Whether my “blank” was family, school, career, or finances, I thought I was in control and if it didn’t work out….well…then it’s my own fault.

Then life rolls around and beats you up a little.
Suddenly, I realized I’m not in control at all. Despite your best efforts things happen and you could be on an entirely different path then the one you wanted.

That’s why today’s free download is so comforting.
God said, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways.” Is. 55: 8 and “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Cor. 12:9

Where I come up short, my heavenly Father takes over. I don’t have to be in control. And that is a relief. Do you know the sound a bottle of soda makes when you open it *Pishhhhhhhhh*? That’s how I feel as my stress is relieved when I meditate on this scripture. It was once bottled up, but now is released.

It’s not easy. I have to keep reminding myself this very thing.
I may not want to be where I’m at in life right now, but that’s okay. I will let God be in control and trust in the end result.

Have you ever been in a spot where things seem impossible and you just don’t know what to do? Maybe you weigh your options but any decision you make will still not work.

When you don’t know what to do, seek God.

I try to do this in my own life. It’s not always easy. Sometimes God allows us to go through difficult times for many reasons, but never because He’s mean or likes to deal out punishments. Here what is says in the bible about such times:

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Rom 8:28

You can view it like taking medicine, tastes horrible but in the end beneficial for wellness. You just can’t see the end result yet.

God always has a plan for those who seek Him and He is always in control. Even when it looks just the opposite. He will provide a path for you.

Uncertainty is certain in life.
At some point, no matter how much you have prepared, things happen. Sometimes these things can sweep your off your feet and knock you down. It happens to all of us.

Don’t worry.
The most beautiful words I’ve read are, “My times are in Your hand…”

Our timeline has already been reviewed. When the crazy times arrive at your door, take comfort in knowing that God is in control, even when things seem out of control. Rely on Him.

I encountered this gentleman last weekend while hiking. He’s an elderly man who slowly walked with a cane. He seemed very friendly as he passed by and even complimented my dog. I really don’t know much more about him.

As he was almost out of sight when I wondered….Is he a widower? Does he have family? Has he lived a hard life?

Then I thought…Does he know that he isn’t alone? Alone in life, I mean, not the fact that there is another person and a dog on the same trail.

There are many promises in the bible, all are comforting but I especially gravitate towards the ones that reassure me that I’m never alone.

For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Heb 13:5b

“Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matt 28:20b

We don’t have to figure everything out. Our God wants us to seek His help. The weight can be lifted off of your back. *sigh of relief*

Because His compassions fail not, they are new every morning…
Lam 3:22-23

Not only are we not alone but compassion for us is renewed every day. Wow, that’s humbling.

It seems as if we are bombarded with unsettling news nearly everyday now…high unemployment, rising prices, dysfunctional government, corporate greed, etc., etc…

There is hope in situations which appear hopeless. Don’t lose heart.

Look at the birds of the air: for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
Matt 6:26

Yes, you are of more value.
He even has the very hairs of your head numbered (Matt 10:30).
You are loved.

If you are struggling or worried you soon will be struggling, cast your cares on God. You do not need an elaborate prayer with puffy fluffy words, just quietly say, “Father, I need you.”
