These owl pellets are so interesting! It is amazing how tiny the skull is and the bones and how you were able to go through the pellets like a surgeon. There are so many treasures in the woods and all we have to do is stop, go very slow and just look as closely as we can. Great little drawings, too! thank you for such an informative and fun website!!

How interesting and exciting. On my morning walks in a local park, I occasionally see an owl, but had no idea about the pellets or the wash. I will be keeping my eyes open in the future. Looking forward to hearing more details. Wonder - do hawks do the same?

Very informative. I just did my first painting on hot press. I didn't think I liked it at first since I am so used to cold press. By the time I was done I saw the differences and the advantages of using hot press and think I will use it more. I'm doing some reading on the subject to get some tips. Thanks for your article.

I'm looking forward to joining the February sketch class! These sketch paintings made me long to be with all of you again. But I never did let my paint tubes sit and dry -- I have been painting during the lunch hour here at work! I plan to look at your photo and pretend I'm at the LIttle Red School house and paint from that.
