Even a female downy woodpecker likes getting a Valentine’s treat! Preschoolers decorated the woods with cute treats for the birds. The best part is that these treats are biodegradable, so if they blow off in the wind, no worries, they will decompose nicely.
Most of the hearts have been attacked by the birds, but she found some remaining seeds. The lard on the cardboard attracts her as well.

That is a great way to give the birds some love! We have feeders and heated bird baths, so we have many birds coming in our yard. So enjoy watching one of God’s creations.
