Goldfinches in their Winter Wear Watercolor – Free Download

Goldfinch feathers molt into a drab olive green/brown color for winter. Many people upon seeing them assume they are looking at sparrows. Not a few believe goldfinches migrate for the winter because they no longer see that bright, brilliant yellow signature color. Not so! They’re here in their inconspicuous attire still seeking thistle.

In case you cannot find them this winter, as my Christmas gift to you, you may copy this artwork by right clicking on the watercolor above and selecting “Save image as”.
Merry Christmas.

Winter Goldfinches

Actual photo of very hungry goldfinches outside my very dirty window. He, he, he.

Free Encouraging Artwork

In this world we will have problems. That’s a guarantee. While we shouldn’t run to people to fix our problems, they are fallible and broken themselves, we can always run to God. He is unchanging and infallible.  He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow…His name is Everlasting Father. So as promised from the last post, here are 7 verses to meditate on. Choose the subject specific to your need….

If you right click on the picture you can “Save Image As”.

When feeling overwhelmed:

Meditate on these words, believe them. God can give you the wisdom to know what your next step should be. When we feel overwhelmed, it’s as if the circuits in our brain are overloaded. We can’t see clearly and may feel stuck or paralyzed. Submit your overwhelmed feelings to God and wait for direction.

When you need hope:

In this passage, “fear” does not mean feeling scared, it means to have reverence or awe. He delights in us when we put our hope in Him.

When you are feeling depressed:

This is my favorite verse because of what God showed me. Jesus, who voluntarily took human form to suffer for our sins, felt this emotion Himself. Look what is says when Jesus saw Martha and Mary weeping for their dead brother Lazarus: Therefore, when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her weeping, He groaned in the spirit and was troubled. John 11:33 In verse 35 it says: Jesus wept.
Doesn’t depression feel like a groan in the spirit? Our Lord experienced it all. He groaned, he cried, he felt pain. He is not some far away God sitting on a cloud waiting to strike bad people down. He’s compassionate because he feels our pain.
AND because of His mercies, we are not consumed. Depression will not consume us. Anxiety will not consume us if we rest on God.

When you are dealing with a health issue:

If you are having health issues that are not being diagnosed (no one to help) this verse is good to meditate on. We also can take comfort in an earlier passage in Psalms. In Psalm 68:19 it says that the Lord daily bears our burdens. We don’t always receive an answer to why we go through things at times, but we do know that our God is compassionate to our struggles daily.

When feeling melancholy:

In moments of sadness our minds and hearts are not at peace. If we can focus on God and praise him in the midst of feeling down, it can break strongholds. With God we can attain perfect peace.

When feeling fearful and needing strength: (this is the original and colors scanned different than prints)

Our God is not asleep! He’s active. He wants to show Himself strong on your behalf! He is seeking you. This is an excellent verse to quell anxiety, fear, and those moments when we feel weak.

When needing encouragement to keep going:

Sometimes we can feel run down emotionally. Remember, we are not storing treasures on earth but in heaven where moth nor rust can touch them. Keep going! You’re doing great!

Posting these 7 verses does not mean that I have mastered any of them. I am broken and need them desperately.  I have to review them over and over and over again. I also fall into the same holes periodically and need to revisit why I did so and ask God to help me again. Some people like to view Christians as people who think they are perfect. The truth is, we are sinners saved by what Christ accomplished on the cross, nothing else. Meditating on scripture helps me to get back on track in this life. I hope it helps you as well.

These pieces are free and you may download as many as you want. Print them out for encouragement for yourself or print them and give them to a friend in need.

Merry Christmas Pine – Free Artwork

Winter Music

An overnight storm blankets the earth and covers each bough, each twig,
But midday sun breaks snow’s grip.
As dollops of ice and snow slide off,
Lower branches become chords to this tree harp.
Various high pitched chimes ring in the frosty air.
I let the crystal notes swirl.
I am pine’s biggest fan.

As a Christmas Gift to you, I am offering this artwork.
It has the words “Merry Christmas” and “John 3:16” so that we can keep our minds focused on the real meaning of the season: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Your sins has been bought at a high price. May the free gift of Jesus’ sacrifice be your salvation and peace forever more.

To Give Life – Free Artwork – Merry Christmas

We have traveled together on this journey called life. Sometimes it’s joyous, sometimes it’s scary, for nobody has answers in their pocket. We take one day at a time and observe. We grow, move towards that which builds us, edifies us, and makes us wise. We veer clear of things that harm, that hurt. I guess that’s how to do this thing called life.

One thing that I have observed is that life is short. My dear friend, Sharon, reminds me that all the time (rest in peace Sharon, you are missed). And that you’ll be able to take nothing with you when you go. Not even your physical accomplishments.  A sobering thought.

Another thing I observed is that the best things in life are free. Even more so if it dearly costs the giver.

My gift to you this Christmas is artwork.

watercolor on 140lb coldpress paper

To be honest it really didn’t cost me much. An hour of sitting still at the most. But my prayer for you this season is that you would know the True Giver that gave His life for you.  Christ came not to judge you or make you feel guilty, but to die for you, and be a sacrifice for your sins to make you whole. Clean before God.

A free gift. That which cost the Giver much…out of love.

2 Cor 5:21
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

The only thing we can give is our repentance and faith. Nothing we have in this world matters except for that.

I hope you enjoy this free artwork. Feel free to pass it along.
Have a wonderful holiday with family and friends.

Help in Troubled Times – Free Artwork – Afraid (true story)

This is a true story.

About a month ago I was given a verse by my mom, who believed God wanted me to have it. It went something like this…. Because you trust in Me, I will help you…
It may have been this one:
“Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek You.”  Ps 9:10

You see, at the time when I read it, it wasn’t relevant to me. I didn’t even write it down. I thought it was nice but that’s it.

Fast Forward one month later and I am hiking at Rocky Mountain National Park  in Colorado, 12,000 feet high. The day was beautiful but suddenly, out of nowhere, a storm developed over the mountain ridge. Miles away from my destination I found myself being the tallest thing around, concerned, and clearly on my mind, oh yes, the article my boss gave me before I left for vacation, about the 3 hikers dying after being struck by lightning at this same park.

I turned around walking quickly in a steady drizzle, when a bright flash of light illuminated everything and immediately a piercing crack of thunder clapped above my head.

That’s it. I’m toast. I’m dead, I thought, for real this time.

I joke about it now, but I was very scared. So scared of being struck by lightning, it triggered a panic attack to which I could not be consoled. It was a full blown panic attack. Tears were involved, I have to admit. I became very lightheaded trying to breath normal, but it had nothing to do with the altitude. It was fear.

After saying a prayer, that verse repeated in my head.

That’s why I received that verse! So I repeated out loud, “Because I trust in YOU, because I trust in You, because I trust in You…”

A physical calm washed over me. The tears stopped. I was able to breath. And I KNEW I was going to be okay. I still practically ran back, but I knew I was going to be okay.

That’s how God works… in very mysterious ways. He knew that verse was going to be relevant for me exactly when I was going to need it. He delivered to me a message before the event and helped recall it in my memory exactly when I needed it. He’s alive and He really does love us.

This artwork is a free gift to you in a pdf format. Maybe it can help.

Perhaps you don’t know anything about God but would like to know more? You can click here to read. Having peace.
