Do you believe in prayer – watercolor

I have an enclosed doorway, meaning there’s a little area in front of the door that is covered and has a light. This area attracts many tiny moths. One night as I was closing the door, I said a prayer…

“Lord, I have never seen a Luna moth (Actias luna) in real life. Please Father, may I see one? They are such amazing creatures.”

Not even 24 hours later, as I looked out my front door I saw the biggest, most beautiful (although tattered) Luna moth through the window of the door.

Before yesterday I was not even thinking about Luna moths. I did not see one on social media or anything. I don’t know why I prayed that prayer on that particular day, other than the fact that I had never seen one. But the power of prayer prevailed.

We are not alone. There is a God who so passionately cares for you, hears you, and wants a relationship with you. He sent His Son to die a painful death so that your sins could be forgiven. And you? Your iniquities are now white as snow. Only God could do that. And He promises never to leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:8). So talk to Him.

Now I have prayers that I have been praying for decades that have not been granted yet. Maybe it’s not time. Maybe I will never know. Why the Luna moth? Why so quickly? I have no idea. Maybe it was just to pass the word…He is listening.

On a random other note…
I recently installed a tiny pond (9 gallons) in my front yard to attract tree frogs. If you are curious to see how to make one, visit the video below. There is also a speed demo on how to paint a tree frog at the end.
Enjoy!
Christine
