Yesterday I noticed a black swallowtail caterpillar on my cosmos plant. It was in a J-hang position, which signifies a transformation. At the time I saw it, I could no longer identify the feet and the end was already in a point formation. I could see two very thin, delicate silk threads holding the body. I backed away and left it in peace.
In the middle of the night, we had a violent storm.
My thoughts were on those delicate threads. Would they hold? Was the caterpillar in distress?
As I stood by my bedroom window and watched the storm, with the lightning reflecting against me, the wind literally blew the windows so hard that I felt it against my body. The roar filled my ears and I retreated.
Early in the morning, I was in search of that black swallowtail caterpillar.
The cosmos plant, which was in a large pot, tipped over. I set it right side up and scooped the dirt back into the pot. My eyes scanned the plant…slowly.
THERE IT WAS!
But now, it wasn’t in a J-hang for it transitioned into a chrysalis. Those fragile, meager threads still holding. Holding strong.
It transformed in spite of the storm.
By far its transformation is not over yet. The hard part is still to come. It must develop and at the right moment flex its wings to gain strength, for if it doesn’t it won’t be strong enough to fly.
Do you feel like you’re in a transition? If so, transform despite the storm. Don’t stop because the hardest part is probably still to come. Keep going. Call on God for strength during every stage. He will keep your threads strong.

Hi Jannie, I’m sorry I do not know how to do that because I only see a list of subscribers. I do not see where I can search for a specific person. Maybe it was just a strange glitch that would not let you comment, because your last comment I did receive. Technology is not my friend. Ha ha ha! Have a blessed day, Christine
