OK, this guy was growing on a felled tree and the tree was on the forest floor. Is that cheating? Nah…
I believe this mushroom is a Dryad’s Saddle. It has a beautiful warm pattern that circles the top. The pattern, if looked at closely, almost resembles bird feathers.
Here is the actual photo as our model, Puffy the toy mouse, poses next to it for scale.
Mushrooms aren’t the only thing growing on the forest floor. Walk slowly and look down and you many find (during spring) one of my favorites….Lily of the Valley.
I love the little dainty parasols hanging ever so gently. These are one of my favorite wildflowers! Those of you whose birthday falls in May, are lucky to have this as your birth month flower. Lucky ducky. π
More “on the forest floor” treasures to come!
I think you should paint the mouse, too.
Haha! Good idea! π
A mushroom that looks like a pizza– I like his thinking!! : )
Love the delicate look of the lilies. We had some in a shady spot when I was a kid, and I’ve always liked them. Beautiful work! : )
