the patient fisherman – watercolor

Every muscle in his body is in slow motion.
Deliberate.
In snail-like fashion, he meanders down the path to the pond.
Quiet.
In the water, he crouches down.
Stealth.
He scans through the water with expert eyes.
Keen.
He executes stamina.
Motionless.
In lightning speed, he attacks with that weapon.
Strike.
He raises his head with fish moving down gullet.
Prize.

A fisherman came to my pond this afternoon to steal some fish out of my pond. Intruder? No, not really. He was doing me a favor. My pond is overstocked with various-sized fish and he was hungry. Not only that but as I watched his behavior, I learned what it meant to be a stealthy hunter.

Your meal was well-earned, my friend. Nice job.
